Our timber clad chalet is a permanently sited fully equipped mobile home on a quiet, English speaking site. It is situated in the village of Lauterbrunnen in the spectacular Bernese Oberland. It is fully insulated and double glazed and suitable for summer and winter use. It sleeps 2-4 adults and has mains water and drainage. See attached plan for more details. A contents inventory is available on request. The central heating is by an oil fired boiler and hot water is provided by a gas fired boiler. A bike shed is attached to the chalet containing a mountain bike which is included in the price. The sale price is all you pay. There are no legal or other fees. You will own the chalet but rent the land on which it stands, there being a formal lease with the site owners. Outgoings are around 3,000 pounds including the site rent and insurance. The unexpired period of the site rent and insurance is included in the price. Gas, electricity and oil are payed for as consumed. The site also makes an occupancy/tourist tax charge whenever the chalet is occupied. This does not apply to the owner or immediate family. There are no other outgoings. There are about 40 other similar units on site and in our opinion, Alpenruh is one of the best resorts.

Area Details

In winter, the ski resorts of Wengen, Murren and Grindelwald are easily accessible where there are over 125 miles of pistes to suit all abilities of both skiers and boarders. Cross country ski-ing is also available. The lift pass covers all three areas and the ski bus which stops at the site. It also includes the train to the nearby town of Interlaken which nestles between two beautiful lakes - Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. In summer, there are endless possibilities for walking and sight-seeing. Walks vary from a gentle stroll to serious mountain climbing. There are a number of castles and museums nearby, especially around Lake Thun where sailing and watersports are also available. The Swiss National Open Air Museum is close to Brienz. This area is probably the best in the whole of the Alps for a leisure or activity based holiday. Mountain biking is very popular with a number of dedicated trails. Other activities include white water rafting, canyoning, bungee jumping, zorbing, paragliding, a Via Ferrata, tennis, swimming, crazy golf etc. There is an 18 hole golf course in Interlaken. Travel to Switzerland is very easy. Easyjet fly to Basel, Geneva and Zurich from where cars can be hired. Alternatively, a Swiss "Transfer Ticket" can be purchased (in advance) which takes you from any airport in Switzerland to Lauterbrunnen by rail/bus and back again. If you go by car, it is possible to drive there in one day, as the dstance from Calais is about 575 miles. Prospective purchasers are welcome to inspect the chalet.
