Villamartin is a prestigious golf course development, which lies to the south of Alicante built on the hilly land just West of La Zenia, on the Costa Blanca (White Coast). It is a mature course with more than 40 years of history and has nice views to the Mediterranean Sea. In 1994 Villamartin hosted the Mediterranean Open of the European Tour. The greens of Villa Martin have also been honoured with the visits and the games of many famous players such as Severiano Ballesteros, Ian Woosnan, Vijay Singh and Bernhard Langer.

Golf Course
The 18 hole Championship Course of Villamartin has a challenging par-72 layout that extends beyond 6,700 yards and provides a good and enjoyable challenge for golfers of all levels. The generous and fast greens of Villamartin are as internationally famous as some of its holes. The two loops of nine are very distinct; the opening half spans the higher ground of the club, affording splendid views over the coastline, while the back nine runs through the valleys amid the ravines. The 17th a par 3 where the player must make the ball fly over a beautiful ravine of mature pine trees to reach a wide and generous green. This variation and stern challenge helps to make Villamartin one of the most appetizing and best golf courses on the Costa Blanca.

Location
Villamartin is situated on the Costa Blanca within the Orihuela Costa. Villamartin is one of the many new developments in the past decade. The area is very popular with tourists and most of the population consists of Western European expatriate communities who have settled there in the last 10 years, virtually transforming the village into a modern-looking town. The urbanization is known for its central plaza located near to the Villamartin Golf Course. It consists of a bank, grocery store, doctor's office, and a variety of bars, night clubs, cafés and restaurants, plus a number of apartments. The Plaza is built around a square that has a number of palm trees which are home to quite a few African Ring Neck Parrots. These parrots have achieved a celebrity status with the local tourists who are not used to the sight, and are seen as a pleasant addition to the area. Villmartin is 5km away from La Zenia which not only provides excellent beaches but also the La Zenia Boulevard Shopping Mall which is one of the biggest commercial centers in Europe with over 175,000m2 of retail space!
Beaches
• The nearest beach to Villa Martin is La Zenia which is one of the busiest beaches in the Orihuela Costa. This sandy beach is 350 meters long by 60 wide. Located near this very popular beach you will find bars and cafes and many restaurants offering excellent Spanish and European cuisine. There are great facilities for both families with children, and those looking for water sports, it also makes up one of the starting/stopping points on the Orihuela Coastal walking route - south to Cabo Roig and Dehesa de Campoamor or north to Playa Flamenca and Punta Prima.

It is a one hour drive south of the Alicante airport and a twenty minute drive north of the Murcia airport.
